Hurricane Ike was the third most destructive hurricane to ever hit the United States. In its brief lifespan of only 13 days, Hurricane Ike wreaked havoc. It had toppled several countries including Cuba, Haiti, and the United States and Ike is blamed for approximately 164 deaths and 202 people are still missing (at the time of writing). Total damages from Ike are estimated at $31.5 billion which makes it the third costliest U.S. hurricane of all time.
